What is an electric radiator?
Electric radiators use electricity as a source of energy. Unlike oil, gas, or wood, this is one of the so-called secondary energy sources. Instead, the required energy is not taken directly from nature, but is produced artificially in power plants through a combustion process. How does it work?
The functionality is always slightly different depending on the type and model. In electric heating, a basic distinction can be made between direct and storage heating.
As discussed above, radiators convert electricity into heat. Two values play a decisive role here: resistance and current flow. When electrical energy flows through a conductor, it creates a high resistance. Experts speak of the so-called heating resistance. The higher it is, the warmer the conductor becomes, which then releases the thermal energy.
At Haverland, our electric radiators combine radiation and convection. This system consists of the use of a radiant energy source to heat both people and objects in the same room. At the same time, the air circulating in the room is also heated thanks to the natural convection of the distributed heat. In this way, in our radiators, the air is dispersed through the aluminium, which allows it to rise and circulate in the room.
Types of electric radiators
There are different types of electric radiators according to the needs of the space to be heated, as well as those who live in it.
Electric wall mounted radiators
