Electric radiators use electricity as a source of energy. Unlike oil, gas, or wood, this is one of the so-called secondary energy sources. Instead, the required energy is not taken directly from nature, but is produced artificially in power plants through a combustion process. At Haverland, leaders in electric radiator in the UK, we have the most efficient and intelligent electric radiators for maximum comfort.
The functionality is always slightly different depending on the type and model. In electric heating, a basic distinction can be made between direct and storage heating.
As discussed above, radiators convert electricity into heat. Two values play a decisive role here: resistance and current flow. When electrical energy flows through a conductor, it creates a high resistance. Experts speak of the so-called heating resistance. The higher it is, the warmer the conductor becomes, which then releases the thermal energy.
At Haverland, our electric radiators combine radiation and convection. This system consists of the use of a radiant energy source to heat both people and objects in the same room. At the same time, the air circulating in the room is also heated thanks to the natural convection of the distributed heat. In this way, in our radiators, the air is dispersed through the aluminium, which allows it to rise and circulate in the room.
There are different types of electric radiators according to the needs of the space to be heated, as well as those who live in it.
This is the case, for example, of our ULTRAD electric radiators, an ultra-intelligent electric radiator that programs itself thanks to a unique sensor technology that studies when a space is most used and program itself to provide the ideal temperature. In this way, it will automatically lower its temperature when the room is empty, thus reducing energy consumption.
Or the new RCTT CONNECT which has an exclusive Wi-Fi pairing system with which the device can be fully controlled from any mobile device or tablet.
Within the electric radiators there are electric bathroom radiators, the best solution to heat the bathroom. This is the case of our Hercules electric radiator, a bathroom heater that, apart from offering ample energy efficiency, has unrivaled design and innovation. With Comfort, Eco, Pilot and Antifreeze functions, you can adapt its functionality to your needs.
And what about our TOD towel warmer? Add a touch of luxury and modern to your bathroom style with this heated towel rail that features a 24/7 programmable remote thermostat.
Electric radiators stand out especially for their flexibility and ease of use. This is because there is no need to store fuel and are easy to install:
✓ Surround heat:
With convectors, the heat seems to surround you, thanks to the upward flow of hot air.
✓ High energy efficiency
It emits all the heat it generates, and it can be kept stable, achieving lower consumption. In this sense, convectors work with thermostats that allow a specific temperature to be determined.
✓ Silence
It does not have fans or anything alike, so it does not produce noise.
✓ Healthy heat
It does not release harmful substances such as monoxide or residues such as soot.
✓ Easy and practical installation
It does not require work to be installed, you can install it yourself.
The most efficient electric radiators are those that are low-consumption and eco-efficient as you will be able to lower the electricity bill and in addition, you will enjoy comfort.
In the past, electric radiators were generally energy-intensive and inefficient, providing uncomfortable heat and poor thermal comfort. Also, there was very little passivity: once switched off, these radiators no longer give off heat. It was clearly not a cheap nor economical method of heating.
Since then, electric radiators have improved a lot. In just a few decades, many cheaper models have appeared, with greater comfort and more efficient consumption, such as the Haverland electric radiators.
If you are thinking of buying an electric radiator in the UK, we give you some tips to know which one to choose.
It depends on the type of room to be heated: if it is a bathroom, it is not necessary to leave the heating on for hours. On the other hand, comfort is important in a living room.
In many electric radiators, it is possible to program, adjust and regulate the heating power. This gives this type of heating a clear advantage, even if this optimization of consumption sometimes cannot compensate for its high energy consumption.
“Smart” electric radiators equipped with screens sometimes offer an “eco-control” function.
Even if you have limited space in your room, you can easily install a vertical or compact electric heater. Adapted to smaller spaces, it delivers less heat but still adapts to the circumstances of your home.
