This Season Add Value to Your Home

According to Phil Spencer – he of Location, Location, Location fame – the top four things people can do to add value to their homes are:

• Go for a loft conversion
• Build a conservatory
• Install a basement conversion
• Get rid of a garage (and turn it into a living space)

Many are listening to Phil Spencer’s advice and a drive around most neighbourhoods will confirm this. With many building projects starting this summer, a lot of people have already been bitten by the home expansion bug and more are in the pipeline.

No matter whether it is a conservatory, a loft, a basement or a garage conversion that is underway, an area that needs some thought – even in the middle of summer – is the type of heating that should be installed. Conventional forms of wet-led central heating are not necessarily the most suitable way to heat many spaces. So, before calling the plumber, take a moment to see what the benefits are of today’s modern electric heaters.

Cost Effective

Although electric radiators use standard tariff electricity, built in energy management systems, such as the ones built into Haverland’s ULTRAD  or Designer RCTT for example, mean that they offer lower running costs than conventional electric heaters.

When compared to conventional wet-led central heating systems, there is no energy wastage with electric radiators because energy doesn’t escape through a flue (as with gas boiler systems). Rather, 100% of the electricity used to power an electric radiator is converted into heat, ensuring less energy is required to run it.

Stylish and Easy to Install

Heating should be unobtrusive, yet fit in with the aesthetic of the space. There are now a wide range of stylish, energy-efficient electric heater solutions to suit any conversion.
