Full temperature control without lifting a finger

Full temperature control without lifting a finger

It is over three years since Amazon announced the launch of Alexa – the intelligent personal assistant that enables voice activation, music playback and other real-time information streaming activities on the company’s Echo and Echo dot devices.  Since then, Alexa has gone from strength to strength, as consumers embrace all things voice-activated.

Alexa has come a long way from its original inspiration – the conversational system on board the Starship Enterprise. Although seemingly a next-generation technology, Alexa has spawned a wealth of voice-activated products that work in partnership with it. From smart speakers and wearables to lights and now heating, the range of items that link to these Amazon devices continues to grow.

Now, thanks to Haverlands development team, the company’s IoT connected heater, ULTRAD, can be linked to Amazon Echo devices, using Haverland’s Smartbox.  Connected via an Ethernet cable from the router to the box, the device enables all ULTRAD electric radiators within a home or office space to be voice controlled.

As well as being voice activated, the Smartbox allows radiators to be controlled remotely via the Haverland App, enabling the heating to be controlled easily from anywhere, at any time.  Now, with either a click or a word, the radiators can be turned on or off, the desired temperature set remotely, a specific functioning mode selected, or specific units programmed for hour-by-hour temperature control.

So, whether it is a guest-room that needs heating in preparation for holiday visitors, or the home-office annex, why not think about adding Harveland’s ULTRAD electric radiators and a Smartbox to your home?
